“I have found in the concept of polyamory the strongest form of love,” Selma Vilhunen told Cineuropa in an interview. In it, the Finnish director discusses her upcoming film, Four Little Adults, a comedy about four individuals and their sentimental experiments.

Marimekko's bold patterns have arrived in Ikea. They star in the retail giant's new limited-edition collection, BASTUA, which includes furniture, glassware and textiles. According to House Beautiful, this is the first time Marimekko has “created patterns especially for a collaboration, making it truly unique”.

Supercell is renowned for global mobile game hits such as Clash of Clans and Hay Day. But to make five hit games, it has had to kill 30 others, Venture Beat reports. These numbers were revealed by Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen, who described the company's unique approach to developing games and to future challenges.

Metal Talk praises The Abbey's debut release, Word of Sin. The Finnish progressive doom-rockers weave a “spellbinding album that defies genres and labels and instead focuses on the delivery of some fascinating music,” the website writes in its review.

It is almost time for the 2023 Oscars. There is also Finnish expertise among the nominations, as the visual effects for Living have been created by Turku-based company Filmgate Finland. The film is up for two Academy Awards. Read more on the Turku Business Region website.

Artek has unveiled a new range of lamps and pendants designed by Sweden’s TAF Studio. The five-piece collection is inspired by and draws its name from baskets ('kori' in Finnish). Each product has been made from recycled aluminium, writes Hypebeast

Congratulations to Alma Pöysti, who won the best acting award at Göterborg Film Festival. Pyösti was awarded for her role in Four Little Adults, where she plays a rising political star Juulia. The jury describes her performance as impressive “with a large range of emotion, empathy, braveness and strength to portray a touching modern character with no borders”.

In 1958, Finnish architect Aarne Ervi created Villa Koivikko, which ICON magazine describes as “a boldly linear home crafted from concrete, brick, teak and copper that nestles into the landscape”. Now the modernist house has gone through a striking renovation in the hands of Studio Petra Majantie and OOPEAA.

The 69 Eyes is back. According to Blabbermouth, the Finnish “gothic rock vampires” will release their new album, Death of Darkness, in April. The band has also announced dates for its upcoming European and North American tours.
