Kyrö Distillery finds Maverick partner in the UK
Kyrö Distillery Company, the Finnish enterprise behind the world’s best gin and tonic, has appointed Maverick Drinks as its distributor in the UK.
Based in Isokyrö, Ostrobothnian Kyrö Distillery Company works exclusively with rye to produce a range of spirits that have been superbly received internationally.
In 2016, Kyrö Distillery’s Kyrö Juuri Rye Spirit won Gold in the Whisky category at the International Spirit Awards, while back in 2015, its Napue Gin won the Gin & Tonic category of the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
The distillery was set up in a former dairy in late 2012 by five friends. Five years later it will take on the UK spirits market with its exclusive distribution partner Maverick Drinks.
“We just love how Maverick handles its booze,” says Kyrö Distillery Company CEO Miika Lipiäinen. “When we started making rye spirits in Finland, we saw ourselves partnering with people who feel strongly about how spirits taste and equally how they are made and who makes them.
