Meyer Turku has agreed to build another cruise ship for TUI Cruises, still subject to financing and slated for a 2023 delivery.
The planned Mein Schiff 7 cruise ship will have a capacity of up to 2 894 passengers and be based on the design of the 315-metre-long (1 033 feet) New Mein Schiff 1 & 2.
and TUI Cruises are now working out the financing with banks and the Finnish state-owned financing company Finnvera.
“We are very thankful that TUI Cruises is entrusting us with building another ship to their fleet of modern and beautiful Mein Schiffs,” says Meyer Turku CEO Jan Meyer. “It will bring further good work to Turku shipyard as well as the Finnish maritime cluster. This is what we are preparing for with our recruitments and investments.”
The new Mein Schiff 7 will be the fifth Mein Schiff cruise ship built by Meyer Turku for TUI Cruises. It adds to the fast-growing fleet of Germany-based TUI Group, operated by its three subsidiaries TUI Cruises, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and Marella Cruises.
