VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Japanese company Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding.

Together the two parties will develop and commercialise silicon photonics and optical data transfer components. The cooperation will provide VTT with greater opportunities to facilitate the adaptation of its new silicon photonics technologies.

“This is an excellent, mutually beneficial operating model which will enable us to expand our international customership,” says VTT’s head of sales and customer partnership, Himadri S. Majumdar. “Together, we can provide our customers with complete solutions.”

The agreement covers a number of joint research and development projects. In addition to these, the partners will participate in international conferences and fairs.
