Founders Toomas Kallioja, Tuomo Laine and Joel Mikkonen define themselves as the PayPal of renting.Rentle

Rental platform provider Rentle has closed a 250 000-euro pre-seed investment round.

The fresh pre-seed capital will increase the startup’s total funding to 330 000 euros. It will add to a previous 80 000-euro angel funding round and grant from the public funding agency Business Finland in 2018. The new investors are business angels and private investors.

Rentle

will use the investment to develop its solution for large-scale commercialisation and to hire more personnel.

“Our clients have had a minimum viable product version of our solution for six months, with which we have been able to tweak the direction in which the solution should be developed so that it can best serve Finnish and foreign markets,” explained Tuomo Laine, co-founder and CEO of Rentle.

The Rentle founders Laine, Toomas Kallioja and Joel Mikkonen founded the project in spring 2018 with eyes set abroad from the get-go.

“During 2019, we’re planning to validate different markets according to our strategy,” said Laine. “We’re aiming abroad and the solution has been developed with internationalisation in mind from the very beginning.”
